Crisp, cool grass

A beckoning night sky

And the wind in tousled waves

Alone, surrounded by towering pines

They reach out to the sky while I lie in my mind

Alone, no one can find me

Their branches twist and crawl into the depths of the Unknown

Where most have already been caught

by twigs that claw their minds

At their hearts and at their eyes

Perhaps one day a canopy will rise

Where we will all be enveloped in darkness

A darkness much different from the night
